Website repair in Nairobi
When part of a site stops working, the cause is usually one small change: an update, an edited file, an expired service. I find that cause rather than patching over the symptom.
Common symptoms
What people tell me is wrong
“A page is blank, a section disappeared, or something broke after an update.”
- A page loads blank or shows an error message.
- A section, image or menu has disappeared.
- Something broke straight after a theme, plugin or code update.
- Buttons or links do nothing when clicked.
- The site works in one browser but not another.
What I check and do
How I fix it
I trace the bug to its cause, fix it, and check the pages around it so the fix doesn't break something else.
- 01
I reproduce the problem on desktop and phone so I know exactly what you're seeing.
- 02
I read the browser console and server logs, where they're available, to find the real error.
- 03
I check what changed recently: updates, edits, hosting changes.
- 04
I fix the cause, then re-test the pages around it so the fix doesn't break something else.
- 05
You get a short note of what was wrong and what I changed.
Access and providers
When I need access or your provider
Many problems can be diagnosed from the public site. Fixing them usually needs a temporary login to your hosting, CMS or code repository. If the fault is on the host's side, such as a server outage, I'll tell you and help you raise it with them.
I'll ask for a temporary account rather than your main password, and you can remove it when I'm done.
How it works
Four steps, no surprises
- 01
Send the link and what's wrong
A sentence is enough. A screenshot link helps if you have one.
- 02
I diagnose it
I look at the site, tell you what I found and send a fixed quote.
- 03
You approve, I fix
Nothing starts until you say yes to the quote.
- 04
I check it and hand over
I test on real devices and send short notes on what was wrong and what changed.
A diagnosis does not authorise extra paid work. Nothing is billed without your OK.

Questions
Things people ask
Can you repair a site someone else built?
Yes. Most repairs I do are on sites built by someone else. I look at how it was built first and work within that, rather than rewriting it.
What if the site can't be repaired?
I'll tell you plainly. Sometimes a rebuild is the cheaper option in the long run, and I'll explain why before you spend anything.
Will my content be lost?
No. Before changing anything significant I take a backup or confirm one exists, so the content can be restored.
