Mobile layout fixes for Kenyan websites
Many visitors to a Kenyan business site arrive on a phone, often a small Android. If the layout breaks there, people leave before they read anything.
Common symptoms
What people tell me is wrong
“Text runs off the screen, the menu won't open, or buttons are hard to tap on a phone.”
- Text or images run off the side of the screen.
- The page scrolls sideways.
- The mobile menu won't open or won't close.
- Buttons and links are too small or too close together to tap.
- Forms are hard to fill in on a phone.
What I check and do
How I fix it
I repair the layout so it reads and works on small Android phones, iPhones and desktops, and I test on real devices.
- 01
I test the site at common phone, tablet and desktop widths.
- 02
I find the elements causing overflow or overlap.
- 03
I fix spacing, font sizes and tap targets so the page reads and works on a small screen.
- 04
I check the menu, forms and buttons by actually using them on real devices.
- 05
I make sure the desktop layout still looks right afterwards.
Access and providers
When I need access or your provider
Layout fixes need access to wherever the site's design lives: a theme editor, page builder or the code itself. Page builders sometimes limit what can be changed; if that's the case, I'll explain the options.
I'll ask for a temporary account rather than your main password, and you can remove it when I'm done.
How it works
Four steps, no surprises
- 01
Send the link and what's wrong
A sentence is enough. A screenshot link helps if you have one.
- 02
I diagnose it
I look at the site, tell you what I found and send a fixed quote.
- 03
You approve, I fix
Nothing starts until you say yes to the quote.
- 04
I check it and hand over
I test on real devices and send short notes on what was wrong and what changed.
A diagnosis does not authorise extra paid work. Nothing is billed without your OK.
Pricing
Where prices start
You get a fixed quote after I've looked at the problem.
- Small visual or content fix
- KSh 1,500International $25
- Standard repair (form, button, layout or CSS)
- KSh 3,000International $45
Every price is a starting price. The final quote follows a short intake.
Questions
Things people ask
Which phones do you test on?
Real phones I have to hand, plus browser tools for other screen sizes. Small Android screens get extra attention because that's where most layouts break.
Will fixing mobile change how my site looks on a computer?
It shouldn't. I check the desktop layout after every mobile change so it stays the way you expect.
